Measurement, Identification & Data Capture

Dimensional verification, code reading, image capture, and production data handling for manufacturing systems

LM3 designs measurement, identification, and data capture systems that convert inspection activity into usable production information. These systems can measure part features, verify identifiers, read labels and codes, capture images, and structure inspection records for quality review, traceability, and machine-level decision-making.

Whether verifying dimensions, reading serial numbers, logging inspection results, or linking images to production records, LM3 engineers each system around the part, process, tolerance requirements, data structure, and integration needs of the application.

Core Comeptencies

  • Dimensional verification and tolerance comparison

  • 2D, 3D, profile, and position-based measurement

  • OCR, barcode, serial number, and label verification

  • Part ID, job, recipe, and production record handling

  • Image capture and inspection result logging

  • Multi-camera and multi-sensor data collection

  • SQL, MES, ERP, or networked data integration

  • Traceability records tied to parts, jobs, and inspection events

  • Production validation, reporting, and review support

Measurement

Measurement systems are used when inspection must produce dimensional, positional, or tolerance-based information. LM3 applies cameras, profilers, sensors, calibration tools, and inspection logic to verify part geometry and produce results that support pass/fail decisions, coordinate outputs, or downstream machine control.

Core Comeptencies

  • Length, width, height, and depth measurement

  • Hole diameter, hole spacing, and feature location

  • Gap, flush, offset, and alignment verification

  • Angle, slope, curvature, and profile analysis

  • Edge, datum, and reference-feature detection

  • Coordinate output for robots, PLCs, or downstream logic

  • 2D, 3D, profiler, and sensor-based measurement

  • Tolerance comparison and pass/fail decision logic

  • Measurement records tied to part, job, or station data

Production Applications

2D vision, 3D sensing, profile analysis, feature localization, and tolerance-based verification

Measurement is used when part quality depends on dimensional consistency, feature position, or tolerance confirmation. LM3 engineers the measurement approach around the physical part, the required measurement output, and the production sequence so the result is repeatable and usable in the actual manufacturing process.
